Built in 1978, the Marine and Harbours Building in Port Adelaide originally housed a State Government department overseeing shipping permits, maritime operations and customs.
After sitting vacant for over two decades, it was acquired by Kite Projects and is now being revitalised as a retro boutique hotel within the Dock One Masterplan.
Port Adelaide’s rich history is now fuelling a new era of growth. The precinct is transforming into a vibrant hub for government, defence and private sector investment, attracting businesses and driving fresh development. A growing mix of bars, cafés, pubs and retail continues to emerge and energise the area, bringing renewed life to the historic Port.
Construction is now underway on the transformation of the Marine and Harbours Hotel. Blending iconic 1970s architecture with contemporary design, the hotel will feature 99 guest rooms, floating river suites, a gym, conference facilities and restaurant, becoming a landmark destination in Port Adelaide and bringing new energy to the precinct.
